A Hootin' Good Time
This year its going to be OWL themed!!
What a "Hootin' Good Time" we had at the Mommy and Me Owl Workshop on Thursday! Dr. Wayne Rossiter "silently" (if you know you know, owls are silent flyers) blew us all away with his presentation on Ohio Owls and MEGA owl pellets! - Did you know under a black light or UV light you can age an owl with the porphyrins in their feathers!
We got to spend time together painting owl planters, planting flowers, dissecting owl pellets, and sharing lots of laughs!
Thank you to all that came and spent the evening with us and a special thanks to Dr. Wayne Rossiter for coming to speak and bring us up close and personal with some of his owl research!
Thank you to For His Glory 4-H Club for all the cookie donations to help feed the guests, thank you Joslyn Riegel for her assistance with the owl pellets, and thank you to the Payne and Riegel families for staying late to help clean up the room.
With all the wonderful feedback and kind words we hope to continue this event next year. It's amazing people like you all that keep us wanting to hold these types of workshops!

2024 Kid's Fishing Derby
The Gallia County Conservation Club & Gallia County Soil and Water Conservation District presents our annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 29, 2024! Registration will open at 10am. Fishing will start around 10:30am and judging will end at 12:30pm with results following soon after. A Free Lunch will be provided and served by the Gallia Shooting Aces 4-H Club (Hot Dogs, Chips, Drinks). Limited live bait and equipment will also be available for the participants. We can't wait to see everyone at the Nature Area Pond at the Gallia County Jr Fairgrounds!

This camp is intended for youth that have completed K-5th grades as of May 2024. Have older youth that want to attend? There is a leadership opportunities for youth grades 6 and up.
