2022 Poster Contest Theme: “Healthy Soil: Healthy Life”

Picture

Healthy soils are the foundation for all life on Earth. Soil is an important resource for everything from human health to agriculture to water filtration. The imperative benefit of healthy soil is food production. Healthy soils also give us clean air and water, plentiful crops and forests, diverse wildlife and beautiful landscapes. It is important that each of us recognize where our food comes and the farmers and ranchers who are dedicated to using responsible land-management practices to ensure a sustainable food supply and healthy land and soil for future generations.

The 2022 Poster Contest theme is “Healthy Soil Healthy Life”.  This contest is open to youth K-12 grades. The purpose of the contest is to provide youth with an opportunity to share their thoughts about soil, water and related natural resource issues, and to carry their message into Gallia County.

“Healthy Soil Healthy Life” is the theme selected for 2022 by the National Association of Conservation Districts. Posters will be due to the Gallia SWCD office by June 1st.

Contest Rules: Poster size must be 14” x 22” (half poster) to be considered for state awards. Students may submit 8.5” x 11” if they wish to have their posters only compete on a local level. Colorful photos with bold lines attract the most attention! Any media may be used, including paint, crayon, colored pencil, charcoal, stickers, paper, or other materials. NEW this year for GALLIA The National Conservation Digital Poster Contest is open to 7-12th grade students.
Any mixed media suitable for reproduction as a poster such as Canva, PicMonkey, Google Slides, Photoshop, InDesign, etc is allowed. Digital posters must be original art and shall not include any copyrighted, trademarked or branded marks, images or phrases besides the NACD 2022 themed logo, if desired.
