#2024GalliaConservationDayCamp Thank you, campers, volunteers, guest speakers, and parents for a great day! We had a great day fishing, creek seining, water testing, jumping frogs chasing, salamander viewing, saw different types of fishing baits, an Eel and much more. Special thanks to our guest speakers!! Thank You – Wayne Rossiter of the University of Rio Grande for all his knowledge on the frogs and amphibians. The Simmons Family of Outdoorsmen’s Cave for explaining the different types of baits used for fishing and the Eel. Officer Levi Boggs, Gallia County Wildlife Officer for all his knowledge on fish and wildlife as he jumped in and talked about Ohio fish and helped all the kids fish in the pond. Gallia OSU Extension for sending home COSI Water Learning Kits with each camper. Eric Clary of the Gallia Conservation Club for teaching the kids to cast, store your bait, and much more. Shout Out to all my other volunteers that helped make the day run smoothly!! Jennifer and Melissa. My youth volunteers – Chase, Tynley, and Lauren. Thank you to the other Soil and Water Staff – Nick and Shari. I hope I didn’t miss anyone!! Thank You all so very much from the bottom of my heart!
