EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE FOR 2008 USE
Your Gallia Soil and Water Conservation District, like you, is planning on a busy year in 2008. In anticipation of the busy year, the equipment the district has available for lease is being checked over and needed repairs being made to help ensure a safe, trouble free planting season. To help make smoother equipment transfers between users, to help enable our office to track and maintain the equipment, and to help better satisfy the state auditor, the equipment procedure below needs to be followed.
1) All landowners will have a signed contract before any movement of equipment from our office or from another landowner can take place. So take time now before the busy season to come to our office and sign a contract for the specific piece of equipment you need to lease. 2) Any monetary deposit/minimum charge requirements will be made at the time the contract is signed. This could save you from making a special trip to our office to pay the deposit when the needed equipment is close to your farm. Anytime a deposit is made and the equipment is not used by the landowner, the deposit will be returned to that person. 3) All bills for equipment use will be paid within 30 days of billing. 4) Any bills not paid within 30 days will be charged 2% interest per month until the account is settled. 5) Any bills not paid within 90 days will be turned over to the prosecutor’s office for collection. 6) All transportation of equipment will be the responsibility of the landowner or the landowner’s designee. 7) The vehicle used to transport any equipment must be of adequate size and condition to safely transport the equipment at the designated, safe speed. 8) All terms stated in the contract will be observed. Please take time to thoroughly read the contract so there are no misunderstandings.
